August 13, 2022: Hey all, I just hit 7k subscribers which is simply wild. Thank you to everyone who continues to support my writing, especially all the people offering a generous monthly contribution. I was off last week spending time with family after losing my grandmother. This week’s issue is a short reflection on my time with her. I hop you enjoy it.
Paul, my deepest condolences on your loss. But together you have planted great seeds. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful tribute to a deep influence on your life. Elders help us understand the long game. Personally, I got to know my great-grandmother. So I say I am the span of seven generations (if I am lucky!) I see where the seeds of so much of your wonderful thoughts were planted, watered with love and care and consideration. Her life lives on through you, Angie, and your widening influence.
I second this, Paul. I really am sorry to hear your grandmother passed. My grandmother, my last living grandparent, is turning 91 next month and I think about this often. I’m so grateful to have had time with her, though it was never enough.
This is a beautiful reflection on what she meant to you.
It might be me as an old soul but I have always loved sitting down with seniors too, they are so wise that almost none of my problems weigh anything and I leave each interaction with more carefree perspective. Sorry for your loss, I am glad that you had the time to learn from and spend with nana.

My heart goes out to you and your family Paul! Tough loss... she sounds like someone I'd want to personally meet.
